COMPASSION,
MERCY, AND JUSTICE
The
Pacific Southwest Conference has a vision for mission - to
be a MOSAIC of churches interdependently working together
to reach the unchurched and to equip believers to transform
lives and communities.
This vision
is given to us in Revelation 7, where Christ's bride, made
up of every tribe, nation, and tongue rejoices together as
one before God. Our challenge today as the church, is to help
establish God's Kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven.
And our mission to love God, love people, and to make disciples
includes tackling issues of class, race, power, privilege,
and all the things that keep us so separate. Frankly, we need
to stop assuming so many things about what we know and what
we think is reality. Instead, let us commit ourselves, together
as a mosaic of churches, to live into God's vision for us,
trusting in the transformative work of the Gospel in people's
lives in our communities!
The Compassion,
Mercy, and Justice Commission exists to resource your local
church as it lives into the Revelation 7 vision. Our goal
is to develop learning opportunities and resources for you.
Our goal is to help begin to better understand how our country's
history, the unique characteristics of your neighborhood/city,
and the expanding demographics in the PSWC (CA, AZ, HI, NV,
and UT), all speak into how we live out the vision.
We highlight
three specific opportunities that are or will be available
for your church. Click here
