Multiethnic Ministries - Opportunities for Your Church

Effective ministry happens at the intersection of scripture and the context in which we are placed. A vital role of church leadership is to clearly define reality. One of these realties for PSWC churches is the profound role issues of multiethnicity and multiculturalism play in our setting where dramatic demographic shifts are occurring. We desire to be churches that reach and reflect our diverse communities, but we often struggle to actually realize this. The PSWC offers several avenues to address these challenges through immersion experiences for veteran leaders as well as emerging ones. These experiences urge us into the new reality that is unfolding from the powerful work of the gospel among us.

1. Journey to Mosaic (J2M): A four day experiential bus trip from Northern California to Southern California that pairs people up with somebody of a different ethnic background. It unpacks portions of the African-American, Asian-American, and Hispanic-American stories in California through tours, films, and partner/large group discussions.

Upcoming 2010 Journey to Mosaic trips are:

October 7-10. Registration forms are available by clicking here. You may contact Nelly Bothi at the Pacific Southwest Conference office should you have questions or need further information, nelly.bothi@pswc.org or (925) 677-2140.

2. Journey to Mosaic Squared (J2M2): A three-week, multiethnic experience to shape and challenge the hearts and minds of 18-24 year old leaders. In 2010 the Journey to Mosaic Squared experience will run from July 10 through July 31. To view/print the 2010 registration application click here. To view/print 2010 flyer click here. 3. Invitation to Racial Righteousness: The focus is on learning that leads to personal change in the area of racial reconciliation and justice. Our hope is that the Evangelical Covenant Church would become a truer reflection of the Kingdom of Christ in all its beautiful diversity. You may read more by clicking here.
