SPIRITUAL DIRECTORS RETREAT
The
spiritual directors of the PSWC gathered for a contemplative
retreat May 7-8. At these contemplative retreats, we usually
invite one of our own to give us an exercise or practice to
take into our solitude times.

SCOTTS
VALLEY, CA - The 150 fifth graders from the Oakland Public
School District exited the buses that had taken them to Mission
Springs Camp and Conference Center recently and saw something
they had only read about in books or seen on television -
trees all around them. Giant redwoods at that.

CHURCH CELEBRATES 100 YEARS

Covenant Church, Keauu, HI (near Hilo), celebrated it's 100th
anniversary as a church on April 21, 2012. This church began
as a Japanese congregation and in 1965 welcomed a nearby Filipino
church into its body.

The
economic crisis is hard for everyone but its effect is usually
felt first and most deeply among the poor. God has opened
up "the doors of the storehouse of heaven" for La
Viña Covenant Church in Kerman, California that they
might sow seeds of love during these difficult times.
DEADLINE
APPROACHING FOR TAX CREDIT FOR CHURCHES
CHICAGO,
IL - The May 15 deadline is approaching for local Evangelical
Covenant Church (ECC) congregations to take advantage of a
tax credit that returned more than $500,000 to Covenant churches
last year, notes ECC Controller Elliott Johnson.
